An Important Message from Artroom Brighton
I have been truly amazed how Artroom Brighton has grown from a slightly hairbrained notion back in 2007, to the wonderful community of pupils and parents that we enjoy today.
It will come as no surprise that we are now closed and like so many of the things that we have all taken for granted, the truth is that we simply have no idea when we will be able to reopen.
We are all in the midst of an unprecedented, global scenario, which will present profound challenges across every single aspect of society.
The anchor of routine has been abruptly cut loose and as parents, we must endeavour to find effective ways of normalising the situation for our children. This will require an acceptance of a very different way of living for the foreseeable future and embracing new ways of learning, to keep our children’s minds active, stimulated and healthy.
ARTROOM ONLINE LESSONS FOR ALL
We are therefore developing an online platform, so we can continue delivering content for children, teenagers and their parents to participate in at home.
I am going to try and recreate the classes, as close to those that I deliver in the studio.
The platform is likely to be a daily ‘ZOOM’ lesson, where we will transmit a live class to signed up members and also to produce free Youtube videos with projects that can be completed step by step, at your leisure.
There are also interactive art games that could be offered as an online group, like the popular ‘Pictionary’, we play in the holiday workshops.
The ‘live’ element of ZOOM is an important part of keeping children both engaged with each other and having the familiarity of a teacher and format they know so well.
If continuing with classes online might be of interest, it would be great if you could obtain the following basic supplies.
– A3 and A2 paper
– Paint (acrylic preferably)
– A3 tracing paper
– Marker pens
– Paint brushes
– PVA glue
The very best place to obtain these products is:
They are excellent quality, reasonably priced and deliver.
I will also be making up cost price, art packs, that can be collected from Artroom.
I really look forward to hearing from you and will keep everyone updated with the progress of the online content.
We will soon be launching a page with further details on our ONLINE ARTROOM on our website so please keep an eye out for it!
Very best wishes
